The Blue Bay restaurant, at the crossroads of table arts and culinary arts

Two houses sharing the same values are happy to join forces this year to celebrate their respective 150th anniversaries: Bernardaud and Société des Bains de Mer.

Barnardaud and SBM join forces

Until November 2013, 12 artists’ tables will be presented at the Blue Bay restaurant at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Its contemporary décor dreamed up by Pierre-Yves Rochon is the ideal setting for these inspired creations.

At the cutting edge of creativity and innovation, the Bernardaud house, the famous porcelain factory, created in 1863 in Limoges and still a family business today, has always opted for excellence, quality and precision. In an area of perpetual change, Bernardaud has developed its technologies, constantly pushing back the technical limits of the arts of fire. These high standards have always been the key to a collaboration with internationally renowned contemporary artists.

Among them Jeff Koons, David Lynch, Sophie Calle and Prune Nourry & JR who produced a plate collection. An uncompromising collection which is available in a limited number of pieces to add magic to any table.

Since its inception 150 years ago, the Monte-Carlo SBM group has projected the image of a very high quality label, a pioneer, inimitable and audacious in the world of luxury tourism. Monte-Carlo SBM is known as a defender of a certain class, glamour and elegance while being the tireless researcher of new trends, tastes and technologies.

The cuisine of Marcel Ravin exemplifies this philosophy. It is both innovative and powerful in its traditions.

So when culinary art meets table art, this gives a “Passionately chocolatey Caribbean heart, like coconut on a Spéculoos biscuit” designed by chef Marcel Ravin especially for the décor of Prune Nourry & JR.

The creative cuisine of Marcel Ravin and this exceptional collection form a unique marriage, a reflection of the art de vivre that the Bernardaud house and Monte-Carlo SBM have perpetuated for 150 years.
