Raphael Gualazzi, Eric Légnini and Kellylee Evans at the 2013 Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival

The Monte-Carlo SBM Group is pleased to welcome the following artists: Raphael Gualazzi, Eric Légnini and Kellylee Evans at the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival! They will perform at the Opéra Garnier de Monte-Carlo on Friday 29 November 2013!

Raphael Gualazzi

Raphael Gualazzi avec LogoHe has a background in jazz, but the fiery singer-pianist Raphael Gualazzi also experiments with pop, classical and Italian song. He is a prodigious performer, composer, producer and arranger with swing. With his husky voice, a falsetto reminiscent of the 1940s and the Harlem Cotton Club singers, timeless pianist and singer Raphael Gualazzi flirts with ragtime, New Orleans brass orchestra sounds, as well as abrupt and outlandish melodies reflective of Paolo Conte.

The fruit of all his passions combined, his latest album “Happy Mistake” (which includes his rhythmic duet with the singer Camille) is a mirror image of this young Italian crooner: eclectic, romantic and extremely lively. He sold over 100,000 copies of his previous album, “Reality And Fantasy” and his freshness and enthusiasm add that special something to all his public performances.

Eric Légnini
Eric Légnini

Jazzman and connoisseur of Afro-American musical tradition and master behind the French-style trio, this Belgian pianist of Italian origin has flourished as one of the most talented pianists of the international jazz scenes over the past ten years. With his acclaimed album “The Vox” receiving a Victoire du Jazz prize in 2011, he is back with his latest album “Swing Twice!” in which he reaffirms his gusto for song, ranging between pop melodies and rhythmic afro-beat. His multi-faceted music, fuelled by classical jazz and groove, brings his inclinations towards soul, R’N’B, blues and pop to the fore.

Kellylee Evans

Kellylee Evans

One of the most extraordinary jazz voices of the new generation, Kellylee Evans was born to sing. Acclaimed by critics and embraced by the public, this Canadian of Jamaican origin has gone beyond the borders of her country, exporting her class and “old-fashioned” refinement, unveiling a sensitive and mature performer with a mesmerising voice. Evans broke onto the scene with an album in tribute to Nina Simone. On her fourth album, “I Remember When”, she covers the Stromae hit “Alors on danse” and draws inspiration from urban music of the 2000s. Jazz, soul and hip-hop are on the agenda!
