La Trattoria: the famous gourmet Italian restaurant by Alain Ducasse

This Tuscan-inspired Italian restaurant offers an uninterrupted view of the Mediterranean.

This year, Alain Ducasse is entrusting Chef Robbie Pepin with the reigns of his second restaurant in Monaco. Pepin will orchestrate the excellent, flavoursome cuisine that showcases the rich, generous products of the Riviera. The menu pays tribute to these products in preparations that are as elegant as they are spot on.

Some dishes to try on for size include boards of deli meats and antipasti; the sea bass carpaccio; pine nuts, olives and green onions; octopus, squid and potatoes; marinated anchovy fillets and fennel; confit and grilled vegetables; and aubergine caviare. Don’t miss La Trattoria Sporting Monte-Carlo’s traditional mini-pizzas and signature fresh and dry pasta counter.

Robbie Pepin cooks light, frank dishes such as roasted Mediterranean sea bass and grilled and confit vegetables; oven-baked John Dory with a Riviera condiment; and lemon piccata, small capers and spinach leaves.

To satisfy a sweet tooth, try a great classic revisited such as panna cotta (caramel, chocolate, red berries), tiramisu or Sicilian cassata. The carrettino dei gelati, an old-fashioned bicycle pushing a red ice-cream trolley with silver bells, offers colourful ice-creams and sorbets.

From Liguria to Sicily, the wines are essentially Italian vintages inviting us on a journey of discovery of regional delights.

Dinner from 19.30 from Thursday, 11 May to Saturday, 30 September 2017 inclusive.
